Hostage-taking: The Engine of Your Empire
Pick a target, grab the hostage and demand ransom: how you build cash, XP and rank.
Hostage-taking is the foundation of BELLOCCO (formerly "committing crimes"). You pick a target, grab the hostage and demand ransom. Every successful job earns cash, XP and progress on your crime rank. You find it under Crime > Hostage. Want a deeper, layered route with mastery? Take a look at the Crime Career.
The six targets
Every target has its own success chance, a ransom range and a minimum rank. The bigger the ransom, the lower the chance and the higher the rank you need. See all hostage targets for the live numbers.
| Target | From rank | Base chance | Ransom |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kidnap a Courier | 1 | 78% | €50 to €240 |
| Hold a Shopkeeper | 6 | 58% | €500 to €1,800 |
| Hold a Bank Technician | 12 | 50% | €1,500 to €4,500 |
| Hold a Museum Curator | 18 | 42% | €3,000 to €9,500 |
| Hold a Bank Manager | 28 | 38% | €7,000 to €20,000 |
| Hold a Diamond Dealer | 40 | 32% | €16,000 to €48,000 |
Chance, risk and heat
The percentages are a baseline. Your real chance grows with your rank and experience. On top of that you build up police attention (heat): the more often you strike, the higher the heat and the lower your chance. Staying quiet for a while lets it cool down. If a job fails you can get hurt or arrested and end up in jail.
Streak bonus
From three successful jobs in a row you earn extra ransom, up to a maximum of +50%. A failure breaks the streak, so a safe target keeps it alive.
Cooldown
After every job there is a short cooldown. It gets shorter with a VIP account and with the Crime room in your Estate (1% per level).
What else do you get?
- A chance per job at a tuning part or a vault code.
- Season points for the season ladder.
- Progress for achievements, daily tasks, challenges and tournaments.
- Your own statistics tab and the daily Top 5 hostage-takers.
Tips
Start low and repeat what you can reliably pull off. Only move up to a pricier target when your rank is strong enough. Watch your heat and let it cool before a big target.
