Map and spots: conquer, build and defend
Everything about the map: conquering spots with bombs, building and upgrading businesses for income, walls, repairers and defensive stances.
On the map spots are spread across the city, grouped into areas. A spot is a piece of street that you (or your family) can own. A spot earns income every hour for as long as you keep it. You find the map in the menu under Crime (Map).
Conquering a spot
- You need a plane to drop bombs.
- A free spot is held by a small guard. Drop bombs to shoot the guard away and the spot is yours.
- A rival's spot has a health bar (status) and possibly walls. The walls have to fall first, then the status.
- Every bomb can hit, but also miss (duds, walls and a worn-out plane increase misses). You can get injured during an attack.
- After an attack the spot is too hot for a while: you have to wait before you can attack again.
- There is a maximum number of spots you may hold at once and a maximum number of bombs per attack.
If you just conquered a spot it is damaged and protected for a while. Reinforce it quickly.
Building and upgrading
On your spot you build businesses. Each business can be built once per spot and raises your hourly income.
| Building | Role |
|---|---|
| Cafe | Cheap entry with a steady income |
| Laundromat | More income for a higher price |
| Pawn shop | Mid-range income |
| Nightclub | High income |
| Poker hall | The highest income, and the most expensive |
You can upgrade each business up to a maximum level. A higher level adds income on top of the base (by default +50% per level), but each upgrade costs more.
Defending
- Walls protect your spot: the attacker has to demolish them first. You can build a limited number of walls, with a cooldown between two walls.
- Repairers restore your spot's status automatically. You search for them for free (with a cooldown) and sometimes you get a lucky double catch. They are consumable: each repairer is spent once it has repaired 100%.
- A family member can reinforce your spot with repairers. Family members cannot attack each other's spots.
Defensive stance
As the owner you choose a stance for your spot (with a cooldown between changes). With a new owner it is balanced again.
| Stance | Effect |
|---|---|
| Balanced | No bonus and no drawback |
| Fortress | Stronger walls, but slower repair |
| Medic | Faster repair and a few free repairers, but weaker walls |
Income and log
The income of all your spots is paid to your bank every hour (up to 24 hours of backlog). You see it in Income. Spots also count towards daily tasks, challenges, tournaments, season points and achievements.
Tips
- Start with a cheap building and expand as the income comes in.
- Upgrade the building marked Best deal first: it pays for itself the fastest.
- Family members can also search for repairers for your spot, without blocking your own cooldown.
- Check the Logs tab of your spot regularly to see who is bombing it.
- Build enough walls before you place spots in a busy area.
- Pick Fortress if you expect many attacks, Medic if you are rarely online and want your spot to heal.
