At the Gym you train a separate stat: AS (arm strength). It is not the same as Power or Defence: AS only counts in Gym duels, the arm wrestling matches against other players. There are three exercises that all build the same stat, but with a different gain and cooldown. Here is the complete overview.
All exercises at a glance
| Exercise | AS per set | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|
| Push-ups | 1-3 | 2 minutes |
| Running | 3-5 | 5 minutes |
| Cycling | 6-10 | 10 minutes |
The heavier the exercise, the more AS you gain per set, but also the longer you need to recover afterwards. And that recovery is shared: whichever exercise you pick, its cooldown then applies to all three. If you choose Cycling, you can only do another set after 10 minutes, even if you pick Push-ups next.
The power meter: your timing counts
The values in the table above are the base gain: what you actually earn depends on the power meter, a needle that swings back and forth across a bar. Click PRESS! as soon as the needle is in the green zone. The closer to the center of that zone, the higher your precision, and your precision scales your gain:
- Clicked outside the zone: your gain drops quickly toward ×0.6 of the base value.
- Somewhere in the zone: a precision between 65% and 100%, with a matching gain.
- Perfect center click: 100% precision, up to ×1.4 of the base gain.
On top of that comes your health: your gain is multiplied by your health percentage (100% HP = full gain, 50% HP = half gain), and you need at least 10% health to train. The VIP benefit Better training adds another 50% on top. A perfect Cycling set at full health with VIP therefore earns many times more than a sloppy Push-ups set at half health.
Which exercise should I choose?
Because the cooldown is shared, the choice is mostly a matter of rhythm:
- Online a lot and often? Push-ups (2 minutes of rest) let you do a set most often.
- Prefer to drop by a few times an hour? Cycling (10 minutes of rest, 6-10 AS) gives the highest gain per set.
- Somewhere in between? Running (5 minutes, 3-5 AS) is the middle ground.
The real difference in your long-term AS growth lies less in which exercise you choose and more in your timing on the power meter and your health while training.
Strategy and tips
- Aim for the center of the green zone. That is the biggest lever you control yourself: bigger than the difference between the exercises.
- Only train with a (nearly) full health bar. Training while injured costs you a big chunk of your gain.
- Choose your exercise based on your play rhythm, not just the highest base gain: the shared cooldown makes the difference smaller than it looks.
- AS is purely for the ring. Do not expect any effect on your murder odds, fights or family wars: for those you train or buy Power and Defence in the Shop.
Frequently asked questions
Do all exercises build the same stat?
Yes. Push-ups, Running and Cycling all raise your AS (arm strength): there is no separate power or defence exercise at the Gym anymore.
Which exercise gives the most per set?
Cycling, with 6 to 10 AS per set, but also with the longest cooldown (10 minutes). Push-ups give 1 to 3 AS with only 2 minutes of rest.
Is the cooldown separate for each exercise?
No, the cooldown is shared. After training with any exercise, you have to wait out that exercise's cooldown before you can train again, no matter which exercise you choose next.
How does timing work when training?
A needle moves across a bar; click at the right moment in the green zone. The closer to the center, the higher your precision and the closer your gain gets to ×1.4 of the base value. Click way off and your gain drops toward ×0.6.
What do I use AS for?
Only for Gym duels: it decides your weight class and your chance of winning in those PvP matches. For murder attempts, fights and family wars, Power and Defence count, which you train separately or buy in the Shop.
