Handshake — getting stronger

At Handshake (under Crime) you train your HS — a separate stat that has nothing to do with Power and Defence. With HS you challenge other players to an arm wrestling contest to wager: The higher your HS, the heavier your weight class and the greater your chance to win the pot. This article is about training; for the games themselves see Handshake duels.

Training with the force meter

Choose one of the three exercises below, and then the power meter will appear: a pointer moving back and forth over a beam. Click on PRESS! when the pointer is in the green zone — the closer you get to the middle of that zone, the higher your precision. Your precision scales your profits:

  • Clicked far next to the zone — you only have a fraction of the basic profit (up to ×0,6).
  • Somewhere in the zone — a clean, average profit.
  • In the middle of the zone clicked — to ×1,4: Almost one and a half times as many HS from the same set.

Next to you timing counts also you health along: you profit becomes scaled to you health bar (100% health = full profit), and you have minimum 10% health needed to too be allowed train. The VIP benefit Better training gives on top of that 50% more HS per set.

The three exercises

All three exercises build up the same stat — HS — but differences in yield and recovery time:

ExerciseHS per setRecovery time
Press1 – 32 minutes
Running3 – 55 minutes
Bicycles6 – 1010 minutes

Please note: recovery time is shared. Choose your Bicycles, then you have to wait 10 minutes before you can train again — with some exercise. A heavy exercise consistently gives more HS per set, but not necessarily more per minute; choose your exercise based on how often you come back to click, not just on the highest basic gain.

What's HS for — and where isn't it?

HS only counts with Handshake duels: Your weight class and your winning chance in those PvP games. It has no influence on your opportunities at murder system, in ordinary attacks, vehicle theft, break out or family wars — and the other way around, it doesn't work either. If you want to become stronger in those other systems, then train or buy Power and Defenceq separately via The Winkelqqqq: free and time bound on the Training tab, or directly with cash on the Arms and Defense tabs.

Training counts for progress

Going to Handshakes is never a waste of time. Each training providers a little XP and counts for day tasks and week challenges — just by holding on to your routine.

Strategy and tips

  • Train with full health. The health factor directly multiples your profit; First go to the hospital if you are battered.
  • Target the middle of the green zone. The difference between a miss and a perfect click is more than a factor two — that ticks over hundreds of sets.
  • Bicycles gives most HS per set, but with the longest recovery time (10 minutes). If you are often online, then deliver Print (2 minutes rest) more sets per hour.
  • Build HS before you start dueling with a high stake — check your weight class on the Competitions tab before opening a pot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Handshakes build Power and Defence?

Handshakes trains their own standalone stat: HS (hand pressure strength). Power and Defence train or buy separately via De Winkel.

How does the power meter work?

A hand moves back and forth over a beam; Click on PRESS! As soon as he's in the green zone. The closer to the center, the higher your precision — that scales your winnings between ×0,6 and ×1,4.

How many times can I train?

That depends on your shooting exercise: Printing recovers in 2 minutes, Running in 5, Bicycles in 10. The recovery time is shared for all three exercises — after practice, you wait that time, no matter what exercise you choose.

How much more do I train as a VIP?

With the VIP addition Better training you get 50% more HS per set, on top of your timing and health factor.

What do I use my HS for?

For hand push duels only: arm wrestling matches against other players, with a weight class and winning chance based on your HS. For attempted mudder, fighting and family wars, Power and Defence counts, not HS.
