The Gym: Train Your Arm Strength (AS) in BELLOCCO
Train your AS (Arm Strength) with the power meter minigame across three exercises, then use that strength against other players in Gym Duels.
At the Gym (under Crime) you train your AS (Arm Strength): a separate, standalone stat that has nothing to do with Power and Defence. With AS you challenge other players to an arm wrestling match for a stake: the higher your AS, the heavier your weight class and the better your chance of winning the pot. This article covers training; for the matches themselves, see Gym Duels.
Training with the power meter
Choose one of the three exercises below and the power meter appears: a needle that swings back and forth across a bar. Click PRESS! when the needle is in the green zone: the closer to the center of that zone, the higher your precision. Your precision scales your gain:
- Clicked far outside the zone: you keep only a fraction of the base gain (down to ×0.6).
- Somewhere in the zone: a solid, average gain.
- Clicked dead center: up to ×1.4: almost one and a half times as much AS from the same set.
Besides your timing, your health also counts: your gain is scaled to your health bar (100% health = full gain), and you need at least 10% health to train at all. On top of that, the VIP perk Better Training gives you 50% more AS per set.
The three exercises
All three exercises build the same stat: AS: but they differ in yield and recovery time:
| Exercise | AS per set | Recovery time |
|---|---|---|
| Push-ups | 1 – 3 | 2 minutes |
| Running | 3 – 5 | 5 minutes |
| Cycling | 6 – 10 | 10 minutes |
Note: the recovery time is shared. If you choose Cycling, you have to wait 10 minutes before you can train again: with any exercise. A heavy exercise gives more AS per set, but not necessarily more per minute; choose your exercise based on how often you come back to click, not just on the highest base gain.
What AS is for: and what it is not for
AS counts only in Gym Duels: your weight class and win chance in those PvP matches. It has no influence at all on your chances in the murder system, regular attacks, car theft, jailbreaks or family wars: and it works the other way around too. Want to get stronger in those other systems? Then train or buy Power and Defence separately at the Shop: for free over time on the Training tab, or instantly with cash on the Weapons and Defence tabs.
Training counts toward your progress
A trip to the Gym is never wasted time. Every workout earns a little XP and counts toward daily tasks and weekly challenges: just by sticking to your routine.
Strategy and tips
- Train at full health. The health factor multiplies your gain directly; visit the hospital first if you are banged up.
- Aim for the center of the green zone. The difference between a miss and a perfect click is more than double: that adds up over hundreds of sets.
- Cycling gives the most AS per set, but has the longest recovery time (10 minutes). If you are online a lot, Push-ups (2 minutes of rest) get you more sets per hour.
- Build up AS before you duel for high stakes: check your weight class on the Matches tab before you open a pot.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Gym build Power and Defence?
No. The Gym trains its own, separate stat: AS (Arm Strength). You train or buy Power and Defence separately at the Shop.
How does the power meter work?
A needle swings back and forth across a bar; click PRESS! as soon as it is in the green zone. The closer to the center, the higher your precision: that scales your gain between ×0.6 and ×1.4.
How often can I train?
That depends on the exercise you choose: Push-ups recover in 2 minutes, Running in 5 and Cycling in 10. The recovery time is shared across all three exercises: after training you wait out that time, no matter which exercise you pick next.
How much more do I train as a VIP?
With the VIP perk Better Training you get 50% more AS per set, on top of your timing and health factor.
What do I use my AS for?
Only for Gym Duels: arm wrestling matches against other players, with a weight class and win chance based on your AS. For murder attempts, fights and family wars, Power and Defence count, not AS.
