The Family Shop is where the boss and underboss buy businesses that run in the family's name. Unlike your personal businesses, a family business does not pay out to a single player: every hour it builds up a shared wage pot, part of which goes to the family vault while the rest is split among the members who receive hourly wages. For anyone competing seriously for the top, a well-run Family Shop is the difference between a loose group of street criminals and an organized mafia family. Note: only the boss and underboss have access to this page.

How the wage pot is split

Each family business yields a fixed amount per hour, multiplied by the business level: together that forms the wage pot. First the family tax goes to the vault (30% by default, adjustable by the boss up to a maximum of 50% under Manage Family → Settings). What remains is split equally among the members who have hourly wages on: a manual switch the boss or underboss flips per member. So not every member automatically gets a share: only turn on hourly wages for members who actively contribute, otherwise the wage pot leaks away to people who do nothing. The payout is fully automatic, every full hour, even when nobody logs in.

Buying and upgrading businesses

There are six family businesses, each with its own price and base income per hour (level 1):

  • Coffeeshop: €35,000, €100/hour
  • Nightclub: €110,000, €320/hour
  • Gambling Hall: €270,000, €800/hour
  • Casino: €670,000, €2,000/hour
  • Arms Dealer: €1,700,000, €5,000/hour
  • Smuggling Port: €4,200,000, €12,500/hour

Each business can be bought separately from the vault and upgraded up to level 10, with the hourly income scaling with the level. The heavier the business, the bigger the investment: but also the bigger the wage pot your family builds up every hour.

Energy: no power, no income

Family businesses run on energy (kW), which you buy from the vault at €6 per kW: roughly 12% of the income it generates. The more businesses you own and the higher their level, the higher the consumption per hour. If the energy supply runs out, everything stops: no wages for members, no tax for the vault, until more is bought. So keep an eye on the supply, especially when a family is less active for a while.

Walls: defense from the same shop

Besides businesses and energy, you also buy walls in the Family Shop: an HP shield that strengthens your defense during an attack by a rival family. There are four escalating options (from barbed wire to a watchtower), each with its own price and defense value, up to a maximum number of walls per family. Walls wear down under fire: so rebuild regularly, especially when you are at war.

Tips for maximum returns

  • Only turn on hourly wages for active members. The wage pot is split equally among everyone with hourly wages on: do not waste it on inactive members.
  • Keep the energy topped up. Without energy the entire wage pot stops, including the tax that would go to the vault.
  • Combine businesses with territory. Family businesses and territory together give you a broad, stable income base that does not depend on a single source.
  • Balance tax and required donations. Family tax and the required donation fill the vault together; share the burden fairly so members stay motivated.
  • Do not forget the walls. A fat wage pot is pointless if the first attack knocks your businesses down a level.

Frequently asked questions

Does the income from family businesses go to the family vault?

Partly. Only the family tax (30% by default, max 50%) goes to the vault. The rest is split among the members who have hourly wages on.

Does every member automatically get a share of the income?

No. The boss or underboss turns hourly wages on or off manually per member. Only members with hourly wages on share in the wage pot.

Who has access to the Family Shop?

Only the boss and underboss. They buy and upgrade businesses, buy energy and build walls.

What happens when the energy runs out?

All family businesses stop: no wages are paid and no tax goes to the vault, until more energy is bought.

What are walls for?

Walls are an HP shield that strengthens your defense against attacks from rival families. They wear down under fire, so keep rebuilding.

Can I upgrade a family business?

Yes, every business can be upgraded up to level 10. The hourly income rises with each level.
