A family war is a formal conflict between two families in BELLOCCO: a scoreboard on top of regular attacks that proves in black and white who is strongest. Attacks between families are always possible, but a war is about something bigger: which family rules the streets? A well-fought war brings honor and loot; a poorly prepared one leaves your crew with a dented treasury and reputation. The War & alliances page brings it all together: attacks, declaring war and diplomacy.
Attacking: always possible, even without a war
Any family can attack another (non-allied) family at any time: no war declaration needed. Only the boss or underboss can lead an attack. Win and you steal 8% to 22% of the opponent's treasury (up to a maximum of €500,000 per attack), and your family gains 0.5 respect while the defender loses 0.25 respect. Lose and nothing else happens: your crew simply slinks off. After every attack your family has a general cooldown of 15 minutes, plus a separate 2-hour cooldown per target to stop you from draining the same family. If you are in an active war with that family, the target cooldown drops to 30 minutes.
Walls: your defense
Your defense is the combined power of all your members, plus a bonus from your walls: an HP shield you buy in the family shop. Every successful attack by a rival wears down part of your walls. Once your walls hit 0, your family lies open: the next successful attack loots 12 percentage points extra and drops one of your businesses, chosen at random, by one level (or removes it entirely if it was already at level 1). Without walls you are an easy target, so keep them topped up.
Declaring war
Only the boss or underboss can declare war on another family, and you can only be at war with one family at a time. While the war lasts, every attack you win against that specific enemy counts as a war point. The first family to score 10 winning attacks against the other wins the war and collects 5 respect for the whole family: there is no time limit, only that points target. Falling behind and want to limit the damage? The boss or underboss can surrender at any moment, which ends the war immediately in the opponent's favor. You cannot declare war on (or be attacked by) a family you have an alliance with: break the alliance first.
Chains: a bonus for those who keep going
Win attacks in quick succession, within 30 minutes of your previous victory, and you build a chain. At the milestones of 3, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 consecutive wins your family gets an extra respect bonus (rising from +1 up to +100 respect at a hundred in a row). An active family that keeps hitting consistently climbs the leaderboard faster than a family that throws the occasional punch.
Preparation
Wars are won before the first blow lands. A family with its affairs in order almost always beats a stronger but disorganized opponent. Prepare like this:
- Train your members' power: the higher your combined power, the higher both your attack strength and your defense.
- Build and repair your walls in the family shop. Without walls you lie open at the very first hit.
- Fill the treasury in advance. A well-stocked family bank pays for the walls and upgrades you badly need during a war, and the fuller your opponent's treasury, the bigger the loot you grab when you win.
- Coordinate your attacks to build a chain together and score war points as consistently as possible.
Strategy
The smartest families do not throw themselves blindly into every conflict. They pick their wars: they attack when they are stronger and use alliances to keep their borders safe, so they can focus on a single front. Winning a war is about timing, preparation and defense just as much as raw power. Ready to prove your dominance? Play for free and join the fight for the streets.
War League: the weekly competition
Besides the vendetta, BELLOCCO has the War League: every week an automatically scheduled 72-hour war against another family, with divisions, seasons and a war chest. You find it in the right-hand menu under your family.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to declare war to attack another family?
No. Attacks are always possible between any two non-allied families. A war is a separate scoreboard on top of regular attacks: the first to win 10 attacks against the enemy wins.
How does a family war start?
The boss or underboss declares war on another family. You can only be at war with one family at a time, and never with an ally.
How is a war won?
The first family to win 10 attacks against the opponent wins the war and receives 5 respect. There is no time limit.
What do you win with a successful attack?
8% to 22% of your target's treasury (max. €500,000 per attack), plus 0.5 respect. If the target has no walls left, the loot is even bigger.
What happens to my walls when I am attacked?
Every successful attack by a rival wears down your walls. Once they hit 0, your family lies open: extra looting, and one business drops a level on the next successful attack.
Do alliances help against a war?
Indirectly: allies can never attack or conquer each other, so a strong alliance network keeps your borders safe and lets you focus your energy on one enemy. Read more under alliances.
