Attacking Players: How PvP Arena Fights Work
How PvP arena fights work in BELLOCCO: Arena HP, the damage formula with Power and Defence, stealing loot and the best build strategy, fully explained with examples.
Attacking another player in BELLOCCO is a fully played out arena fight, not a hidden dice roll. Your Power, your Defence and those of your opponent together decide who wins. You can work out every fight in advance, and afterwards you get a hit-by-hit battle report.
How the fight works
- Both players get Arena HP = (Power + Defence) × 10. This is a separate combat health bar, not your regular health.
- The attacker hits first, then you take turns.
- Every hit deals Power² ÷ (Power + the opponent's Defence) damage, with ±10% random variation so no two fights are identical.
- Whoever drops to 0 Arena HP first loses the fight.
Worked example
Say you have 50,000 Power and 30,000 Defence, and your target has 40,000 Power and 60,000 Defence.
- Your Arena HP: (50,000 + 30,000) × 10 = 800,000
- Target's Arena HP: (40,000 + 60,000) × 10 = 1,000,000
- Your damage per hit: 50,000² ÷ (50,000 + 60,000) ≈ 22,727
- Their damage per hit: 40,000² ÷ (40,000 + 30,000) ≈ 22,857
You hit almost equally hard, but they have more Arena HP: you will probably lose this fight, although with differences this small the ±10% variation can still tip it. The attack page always shows this calculation beforehand, so pick your target wisely.
Build strategy: Power, Defence or balanced?
- Power heavy (glass cannon): you hit very hard, but your total (and therefore your Arena HP) is lower: short, aggressive fights.
- Defence heavy (tank): enemy hits do less and you have a big HP pool, but you hit softer yourself: you win on endurance.
- Balanced: a bit of both. Your total Power + Defence always sets your Arena HP, so every single point you buy counts.
You build Power and Defence in the Shop: buy points with cash or train them for free through Shop → Training. Your own Arena HP is shown on your profile.
Loot: what can you win?
If you win, you steal a percentage of the loser's cash (money on hand). The more Arena HP you have left, the more convincing the win and the bigger the loot. Money in the Bank is always safe, so put your cash away. Winning also earns you some respect.
What does an attack cost?
- A little real health: win or lose, fighting always hurts.
- No bullets: you only need those for the murder system and heavy weapons, not for arena fights.
- A short wait before you can attack the same target again.
Frequently asked questions
Can a weaker player win? Only if the builds are close: then the ±10% variation decides. With a big stat gap the stronger build almost always wins, so training pays off right away.
Can I lose my bank money? Never. Only cash on hand can be stolen.
Do my weapon and armour count? No: arena fights run purely on Power, Defence and Arena HP. Weapons and armour are for the murder system.
Where can I see my Arena HP? On your profile, and before every fight the attack page shows both HP pools and the expected damage per hit.
