Family shop — companies, wages and defences
The Family shop is where the boss and underboss buy companies that run in the name of the family. Unlike your personal businesses, a family business does not hand out money to one player: it builds an hourly joint wage pool, part of which goes to the family treasury and the rest is divided among the members receiving hourly wages. For those who play seriously for the top, a good running family shop is the difference between a loose group of street criminals and an organized mafia family. Please note: only the boss and underboss have access to this page.
How the payroll is distributed
Each family business provides a fixed amount per hour multiplied by the level of the holding — together, the wage pool. First, the family tax goes to the greenhouse (standard 30%, adjustable by the boss up to maximum 50% under Manage Family → Institutions). What remains is even distributed among the members who have hourly wage on — that's a manual switch that the boss or underboss can convert per member. So not every member automatically gets a part: only set up hourly wages for members who contribute actively, otherwise the payroll will leak to those who do nothing. The payout is completely automatic, every whole hour, even if no one logs in.
Buying and upgrading companies
There are six family farms, each with its own cost and basic hourly income (level 1):
- Coffee shop — €35.000, €100/hour
- Nightclub — €110.000, €320/hour
- Gambling Hall — €270.000, €800/hour
- Casino — €670.000, €2.000/hour
- Arms trade — €1.700.000, €5.000/hour
- Smuggling port — €4.200.000, €12.500/hour
Each company can be bought separately from the greenhouse and upgrade to maximum level 10, where the yield per hour scales with the level. The heavier the company, the larger the investment — but also the bigger the paycheck your family builds every hour.
Energy: without flow no income
Family businesses run on energy (kW), which you purchase from the greenhouse for €6 per kW — about 12% of the income it yielded. The more and the higher companies you own, the higher the hourly consumption. When the energy supply rises, everything stands still: no wages for members, no taxes for the cash, until the purchase is made. So keep an eye on the stock, especially if a family is less active for a while.
Walls: Defense from the same shop
Next to businesses and energy buy you in the Family shop also walls — a Hp-shield that you defense strengthened at a attack of a rivaling family. There to be four increasing options (of barbed wire up to a watchtower), each with a own price and defense value, up to a maximum on walls per family. Walls wear out under fire — build so arranged at, especially if you in war are.
Tips for maximum efficiency
- Put on hourly pay only for active members. The wage bill is distributed equally to anyone with hourly earnings — don't waste that on inactive members.
- Keep the power up. Without energy, the whole wage box is shut down, including the tax that would go to the greenhouse.
- Combine businesses with territory. Family businesses and territory together give you a wide, stable income base that not of one source depends.
- Vote tax and mandatory donation af. Family tax and the mandatory donation fill together the till; divide the burden fair so that members motivated stay.
- Don't forget the walls. A fat paycheck is pointless if the first one makes the best attack lower your companies.
