Your rank is the main measure of your progress in BELLOCCO, the free mafia browser game. You climb by earning experience (XP), and a higher rank unlocks heavier crimes, better success rates and more standing in the underworld. In this article we explain how you earn XP, how the rank ladder works, which separate leaderboards exist and exactly what a higher rank gets you.

What is XP (experience)?

XP stands for experience: a points score that keeps adding up as long as you are active. The more you do in the game, the more XP you collect, and that XP decides your overall rank. You do not need to sign up for anything special. Playing earns XP automatically, and as soon as you have collected enough experience for the next threshold, you rank up automatically.

The beauty of this system is that there is no single "right" way to climb. Whether you prefer committing crimes, dealing drugs, stealing cars or conquering spots on the map: almost everything counts. So you can play your own way and still grow steadily toward the top.

Earning XP: how does leveling up work?

Almost every action in BELLOCCO gives XP. The riskier and bigger the job, the more experience you usually earn. Small, quick actions give a little XP but can often be repeated; heavy operations give a lot more in one go. The trick is to find a rhythm in which you keep stacking actions.

Which actions give XP?

Almost everything you do in the game adds to your experience. The main XP sources include:

  • Committing crimes: from pickpocketing to bigger jobs.
  • Dealing drugs and trading your stock.
  • Organized crime (OC) and heists with your crew.
  • Vehicle theft: stealing cars and selling them on.
  • Smuggling: moving goods or drugs between countries.
  • Cracking the vault and other loot-focused actions.
  • Breaking out of jail, for yourself or for others.
  • Conquering spots on the underworld map.

In short: keep playing actively and with variety. Players who run a daily mix of crimes, drugs and heavier operations climb the ranks fastest.

The rank ladder

There are dozens of ranks, from Street Rat and Pickpocket via Made Man and Capodecina up to the absolute top of the mafia. The XP thresholds rise steeply: you do not become rich and powerful in a day, but by keeping at it. That makes every new rank feel like a milestone you earned.

Below is the complete ladder with the matching names and thresholds. Also check the separate page with all ranks for the full overview.

Other rankings next to your main rank

Your overall rank sums up your entire career, but BELLOCCO also tracks separate leaderboards that each measure one specific side of your game. That way you see exactly where you truly excel, and you can focus on a specialization.

  • Crime rank: based on the crimes you commit.
  • Money rank: reflects your financial clout and earnings.
  • Breakout rank: for your successful jail breakouts.
  • Murder rank: measures your performance in fights and hits.

Each leaderboard measures a different side of your career. Want the full picture? See all leaderboards in one place.

What does a higher rank get you?

Climbing higher is not just for glory. A higher rank unlocks more options: heavier and more profitable crimes, better success rates and access to content that is still locked for beginners. On top of that, your rank gives you standing. Other players can see at a glance that you are a veteran who should not be underestimated.

Ranks tie in with the rest of the game: the further you get, the more doors open. Combine that with achievements and season rewards and your progress keeps speeding up.

Frequently asked questions

How do I earn XP?

You earn XP simply by playing actively. Almost every action gives experience, and that experience adds up automatically until you reach the threshold for the next rank. The more and the more varied you play, the faster you climb.

Which actions give XP?

Almost everything: committing crimes, dealing drugs, organized crime, vehicle theft, smuggling, cracking the vault, breakouts and conquering spots. Riskier and bigger jobs usually give more XP than small, quick actions.

What are the separate leaderboards?

Besides your overall rank there are separate leaderboards for crime (crime rank), money (money rank), breakouts (breakout rank) and murder (murder rank). Each leaderboard measures a specific side of your career, so you can specialize.

What does a higher rank get you?

A higher rank unlocks heavier and more profitable crimes, better success rates and content that used to be locked. Your rank also gives you standing: other players immediately see that you are an experienced player.

Do I lose my rank every season?

No. Your rank and the experience you have built up are the heart of your progress and stay with you; at the end of a season only the season rankings and season points reset. Read exactly what does and does not carry over into a new season on the seasons page.
