BELLOCCO has its own language full of mafia terms and abbreviations. For new players that can be confusing at first: what is a capo, what does heat mean and why are bullets so important? On this page you will find a complete glossary of the most important terms in the game, explained briefly and clearly. Keep this page handy while you play and you will understand what everyone in the chat is talking about in no time.

People and ranks

  • Don: the top boss of a family. The Don leads the family, makes the big decisions and hands out power.
  • Capo: a high-ranking family member, a kind of lieutenant under the Don. Capos often run part of the family.
  • Rank: your position on the underworld ladder. The more experience you gain, the higher you climb, see ranks and experience.

Progress and stats

  • Respect: the measure of your standing in the underworld. More respect means more influence and higher status.
  • XP: experience points. You earn XP through crimes and activities, and it is how you climb in rank.
  • OC: short for organized crime: big jobs you pull off together with other players for a hefty haul.

Danger and risk

  • HEAT / arrest risk: how closely the police are watching you. The higher your heat, the bigger the chance you get caught during a crime and end up in jail.
  • Bullets: ammunition you need for fights and attacks on other players. Without bullets you cannot shoot, so keep your supply topped up.
  • Bounty: a reward on someone's head. Whoever takes out the target collects the payout, see the bounty list.

Property and loot

  • Territory: areas your family can claim and defend. Territory brings influence and income, but also attracts rivals.
  • Vault code: a code that unlocks a vault full of loot or rewards. Cracking or finding the right vault code can earn you a nice haul.
  • Bank: the safe place to keep your money. Money in the bank cannot be stolen from you, cash in your pocket can.

Why knowing the right terms helps

If you speak the language of the underworld, you play smarter. Once you know what heat does, you handle your arrest risk more carefully. Understand the difference between respect and XP and you can focus your efforts better. And if you know the role of a Don or capo, it is easier to find your place in a family. This glossary grows along with the game: if you come across a term you do not know, check here or ask the community on the forum.

What is a Don?
