Car Tuning: Fit Parts, Underglow and Performance
How Car Tuning works: eight part slots, rarity colors, a live preview, auto-build, dyno runs and custom underglow for your car.
In this article
In Car Tuning (/autotuning, right menu under Vehicles) your car takes center stage, surrounded by eight part slots. It replaces the old Tuning shop.
Choosing your car
Pick a vehicle at the top: use the arrows to switch to the previous or next car, or open the full list. You instantly see the performance score and gauges for power, 0-100, top speed, weight and grip.
The eight slots
| Slot | Effect |
|---|---|
| Engine block | Power |
| Turbo and intake | Power and top speed |
| ECU software | Power |
| Gearbox | Acceleration |
| Sport tires | Grip |
| Weight reduction | Weight |
| Aerodynamics | Downforce |
| Nitro (NOS) | Top speed and boost |
Each slot sits where that part would be on a real car. A fitted part glows in its rarity color: gray for Common, green for Uncommon, blue for Rare, purple for Epic, gold for Legendary and pink for Mythic.
Choosing parts
Tap a slot to open a window with all your matching parts in a compact grid. Each part shows exactly what it changes in power, grip, top speed and weight. Select a part and press Install, or press Remove to take it off. Each vehicle holds one part per slot.
Handy extras
- Auto-build fits the best parts you own in one click; Strip removes them all.
- The live preview shows your new score before you confirm.
- The dyno run shows off your build in a short animation.
- A fully loaded car with high-end parts earns a build tier and can become a Perfect build.
- Use Share to create an image of your car.
Underglow (neon)
Choose an underglow color for your car. The color is saved per vehicle and shows up in the Car Garage, in street races, in your inventory, on the marketplace and in your Estate showcase.
Selling loose parts
Parts you are not using can be sold to the dealer for a percentage of their value. You can do this from Car Tuning or from your inventory under the Car parts category.
Frequently asked questions
How many parts fit on one car?
One per slot, so a maximum of eight per vehicle.
Can I get a fitted part back?
Yes. Remove it and it goes straight back into your inventory.
Does tuning change the balance of races?
Parts improve your performance, but condition, wear and your own driving still count. See Vehicles, tuning and races.
